About TAB
The Tutoring Associate Board (TAB) is a group of highly engaged tutors who support Tutoring Chicago’s mission by strengthening tutor engagement, recruitment, community, and fundraising.
TAB plays a key role in:
Building a strong, connected tutor community
Hosting events that deepen tutor commitment and engagement
Supporting tutor recruitment efforts to expand Tutoring Chicago’s student reach
Supporting fundraising efforts that sustain Tutoring Chicago’s impact
Membership Overview
Eligibility: Open to current Tutoring Chicago tutors
Term: June 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027 (with annual renewal)
Structure: One unified board (no subcommittees)
Time Commitment:
4 in-person, full-board meetings on June 18, September 24, December 3, March 25
Ad hoc planning or working meetings as-needed (virtual or in-person)
Monthly engagement events (attendance strongly encouraged)
Additional involvement as needed
TAB Expectations
What You’ll Do:
As a TAB member, you will:
Help plan, promote, or support events throughout the year (including the Jingle Mingle, Celebrity Spelling Bee, Spring Fling, and Read the Greens)
Contribute to tutor recruitment and engagement efforts (orientation screeners, recruit at community events, outreach to prospective tutors and active volunteers, etc.)
Support fundraising initiatives in ways that align with your strengths
Serve as an ambassador for Tutoring Chicago
Give/Get:
TAB is designed to be a self-sustaining community. Each member contributes in ways that are meaningful and realistic for them.
