The Headway Annual Awards are back, and we are returning to the elegant 5-star Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Thursday 10 December 2026.

The closing date for nominations is Friday 31 July 2026.

Nomination guidelines for company awards

Nominations are welcomed from anyone of any age.

Nominations are welcomed from individuals affected by brain injury, local Headway charities and branches, and organisations supporting / working with those affected by brain injury.

Nominations cannot be submitted by Headway UK Trustees, staff of Headway UK or their families.

Nominations for an award cannot be submitted by employees of the sponsor for that award. For the avoidance of doubt, employees of a sponsor can submit nominations for other Annual Awards.

Headway UK reserves the right to move nominations to an alternative category where appropriate.

Pro Bono Impact Award

This award recognises a company that has provided exceptional pro bono support, legal or otherwise to people affected by brain injury. The support will have made a tangible, positive difference to the quality of life of a or many brain injury survivors and/or their loved ones.

The award celebrates organisations that go beyond expectation by offering their time, expertise and resources without charge, demonstrating a deep understanding of the challenges faced by people living with brain injury and responding with compassion, skill and integrity.

We are looking for clear evidence that the pro bono support has led to meaningful outcomes, such as increased independence, enhanced quality of life, reduced mental health impact, or access to opportunities that would otherwise have been out of reach.

Brain Injury Inclusive Award

This award recognises a company that places the wellbeing of brain injury survivors and their loved ones at the heart of its work. It celebrates organisations that consistently demonstrate excellent professional judgement, inclusive practice and thoughtful decision making when working with people affected by brain injury.

The award acknowledges companies whose policies, culture and day to day professional actions show a genuine commitment to understanding brain injury and responding appropriately. This may include brain injury informed practice, flexible approaches, fair and compassionate decision making, and a willingness to adapt systems to meet individual needs.

We are looking for organisations that do not simply comply with standards, but actively strive to do what is right, particularly in complex or challenging circumstances.
