The Providers' Council is excited to announce that it will once again be awarding $50,000 in scholarship funds to individuals in the human services sector who are pursuing degrees in higher education.

In addition to its annual Graduate Leadership ($10,000), Foreign-Born Leader ($5,000) and two Matava and Weekes ($5,000) Scholarships, which are specifically awarded to individuals pursuing a graduate education, the Providers' Council is also awarding five Collegiate Scholarships ($5,000) to individuals pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Please note that scholarships will be awarded at our 51st Annual Convention & Expo on October 26, 2026 at Marriott Copley Place in Boston. Please save this date in the event you are awarded a scholarship!

Scholarship funds will be applied at the beginning of the Spring 2027 semester (January 2027).

Which Providers' Council Scholarship are you applying for?

Scholarship Overview

The Providers' Council is pleased to announce that applications for the 2026 Graduate Leadership Scholarship of $10,000 are now being accepted.
The scholarship promotes the Council's ongoing objective of developing the human services sector's leadership and workforce.

This one-time award of $10,000 will be awarded to one Council member employee who is entering or currently enrolled in a graduate degree program based in Massachusetts. Competitive applicants will demonstrate in their personal statement how the program is clearly related to their future contributions to the human services sector.

Candidate Requirements:
1. Candidate must be an employee of a Providers' Council member agency in good standing.

2. Candidate must have worked at their agency for at least one year.

3. Candidate must currently be working at least 30 hours a week.

4. Candidate must already hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
5. Candidate must show through their resume, personal statement and references, a commitment to the human services sector.
6.
- If newly applying for graduate school, the candidate must show evidence of acceptance
by an accredited, Massachusetts-based graduate school, such as an acceptance letter.

- If the candidate has already completed a portion of their graduate education, they
must submit an official transcript from the accredited, Massachusetts-based school in
which they are currently enrolled in, demonstrating the earning of credit grades in all
courses officially graded by the time of application.

Scholarship Overview

The Providers' Council, in partnership with Suffolk University, is pleased to announce that applications for the 2026 Providers' Council and Suffolk University's Matava and Weekes Scholarships (formerly the Master of Public Administration scholarships) of $5,000 are now being accepted.
The scholarships promote the Council's ongoing objective of developing the human services sector's workforce and its longstanding partnership with Suffolk University.

This one-time award of $5,000 will be given to two Council member employees who are entering or are currently enrolled in Suffolk University's Master of Public Administration program. These scholarships are based on leadership, merit and need, and eligible applicants must have successfully completed the Council's Certificate in Nonprofit Human Services Management Program.

Candidate Requirements:
1. Candidates must have successfully completed the Providers’ Council’s Certificate in Nonprofit Human Service Management program at Suffolk University within the past seven years.
2. Candidate must be an employee of a Providers' Council member agency in good standing.

3. Candidate must have worked at their agency for at least one year.

4. Candidate must currently be working at least 30 hours a week.
5. Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

6. Candidate must show through their resume, personal statement and references, a commitment to the human services sector.

- If newly applying to the Suffolk University Master of Public Administration program, the
candidate must show evidence of acceptance, such as an acceptance letter.
- If the candidate has already completed a portion of their graduate education,
they must submit an official transcript from Suffolk University, demonstrating that
earned credit grades in all courses were officially graded by the time of application.

The scholarship promotes the Council's ongoing objective of developing the human services sector's leadership and workforce.

This one-time award of $5,000 will be given to one foreign-born Council member employee who is entering or currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Massachusetts.

Candidate Requirements:
1. Candidate’s place of birth must be outside of the United States.
2. Candidate must be an employee of a Providers' Council member agency in good standing.

3. Candidate must have worked at their agency for at least one year.

4. Candidate must currently be working at least 30 hours a week.
5. Candidate must already hold a bachelor's degree from a college or university.

6. Candidate must show through their resumes, personal statements and references, a commitment to the human services sector.

- If newly applying for graduate school, the candidate must show evidence of
acceptance by an accredited Massachusetts-based graduate school, such as an
acceptance letter.
