The Hāpai Kaumātua Grant is here to uplift and support our kaumātua during this time of rising living costs. Grounded in manaaki-tanga, it provides practical assistance with care and respect, helping to uphold your mana and support your wellbeing. It is about whakamana - enabling you to continue living well, staying connected with your whānau, feeling supported, and maintaining your dignity and independence.

The Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board is providing a one-off $100 payment to registered members aged 60 years and over.

Available: 1 July 2026 - 30 June 2027.
Limit: One grant per applicant.

To be eligible to apply, you must:

Reside in New Zealand.
Be a registered member of the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board.
Be aged 60 years or over.
Provide verified bank account details.
- The Hāpai grant will only be paid into the applicant's verified bank account. Payments will not be made to bank accounts held solely by another person.
