Healthy Parent Carers Programme

LOOK is proud to deliver this  transformational programme, facilitated by parent carers of visually impaired young people.

The Healthy Parent Carers programme improves the health and wellbeing of parent carers by promoting empowerment, confidence, and resilience.

The programme has been inspired and developed by parent carers working within the University of Exeter Medical School. The ‘small steps’ approach enables participants to feel in control and able to think outside of their caring duties in an encouraging and fun way. Participants create a new community of support and develop strategies to deal with the challenges that being a parent carer brings.

Feedback from parent carers:

“It was really helpful not to feel so alone on our journeys and that others are in a similar boat to ourselves.”

“The programme provided me with useful tools that helped.”

LOOK's facilitators have been trained to lead the Healthy Parent Carers course. We hope that you can take advantage of this opportunity.

Please note that there is no fee for the course, but we do ask that you commit to attending the sessions:
