Intern Agreement
To ensure the Burien Green Teens internship is a good fit for you, please review this section before completing the rest of the enrollment form. 

OVERVIEW
Burien Green Teens is a career-connected, high school student internship offered by the City of Burien, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, and Dirt Corps. This internship enables students to build the skills, knowledge, and excitement needed to pursue green careers while earning a stipend.

Schedule:
  • Weekdays 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, from Monday, August 17 - Friday, August 28, 2026.

Location:
  • The primary locations will be Salmon Creek Ravine and Burien Community Center;
  • On one day, we will meet at Shark Garden and bus together to the White Center Food Bank.

Orientation:
  • Student/family Orientation will be held at the Burien Community Center on Tuesday, August 11 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm. Interns will review and complete required paperwork, try on gear, and meet the lead staff and other interns.

Physical Activity:
  • Most days will occur outdoors. Project work will include activities such as digging and removing weeds like blackberry, plant identification, and hiking. This is an outdoor and physically intensive program.

Stipend Check
Your stipend check will be mailed to you in early September. Please provide the mailing address where you want to receive your check.

Gear Kit
We provide each participant with a Gear Kit (that you get to keep!). Please review what is included in the Gear Kit below, and answer the questions below based on your needs.
  • Carhartt pants
  • Hiking boots and socks
  • Greenway logo t-shirt
  • Greenway hat 
  • Work gloves
  • Water bottle
  • Basic backpack
  • First aid kit
  • Hand pruners
  • Hand sanitizer
Note: Long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required. We recommend being prepared each day with a full water bottle, layers, safety gear, and  backpack to hold your belongings.










Lunch
We provide lunch each day for all participants, and we want to make sure folks enjoy the food!

Required Documents: Waiver and W-9 Form
You need to upload two documents here, or bring them with you to the August 11 Orientation.  

1. W-9 Form
Download and complete with the student's name and social security number (SSN) or tax identification number (TIN). Do not use parent/guardian information here. If you do not have an SSN or TIN, skip this form.

2. Greenway Trust Waiver 
Download and complete. Select from five available languages:
