OVERVIEW
Burien Green Teens is a career-connected, high school student internship offered by the City of Burien, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, and Dirt Corps. This internship enables students to build the skills, knowledge, and excitement needed to pursue green careers while earning a stipend.
Schedule:
- Weekdays 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, from Monday, August 17 - Friday, August 28, 2026.
Location: - The primary locations will be Salmon Creek Ravine and Burien Community Center;
- On one day, we will meet at Shark Garden and bus together to the White Center Food Bank.
Orientation:- Student/family Orientation will be held at the Burien Community Center on Tuesday, August 11 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm. Interns will review and complete required paperwork, try on gear, and meet the lead staff and other interns.
Physical Activity: - Most days will occur outdoors. Project work will include activities such as digging and removing weeds like blackberry, plant identification, and hiking. This is an outdoor and physically intensive program.
