VIRTUAL TRAINING
Monthly, October 2026 through March 2027
JustLeadershipUSA (JLUSA) is a national organization working to advance justice reform and build leadership among directly impacted people and communities. Through our JustUS Coordinating Council (JCC), JLUSA works alongside community leaders, advocates, and organizations across the country to support policy change, systems advocacy, and community-rooted leadership development. You can learn more about JLUSA at www.jlusa.org and the JCC at www.justuscc.org

We are launching a new, free training initiative in New York City called Emerging Leaders+™: Financial Justice. This free training initiative is designed to support community-based organizations working directly with justice-impacted communities through leadership development, policy education, technical assistance, and peer learning opportunities focused on financial justice and economic mobility.

The program will explore issues including:
  • consumer protection
  • banking and credit barriers
  • fines and fees
  • debt and financial exclusion
  • housing and economic instability
  • systems navigation
  • community-informed advocacy strategies
This free training initiative prepares frontline staff at community-based organizations in New York City to become holistic peer supporters and resource navigators. Participants build skills in consumer protection and financial wellness, learning to recognize predatory financial practices and support the individuals and families they serve in navigating financial stress and instability. Through peer-led training, economic wellness workshops, and community-based resource navigation, Emerging Leaders+: Financial Justice strengthens organizations' capacity to support their communities' financial and emotional wellbeing.

Application acceptance is pending upon organizational alignment and interest. Must be affiliated with an organization to apply.

Emerging Leaders+: Financial Justice will begin with an in-person convening Wednesday, September 9 - Thursday, September 10, 2026, followed by monthly virtual training, technical assistance, and project development support through March 2027.
