Please join us on October 16th at the Seattle University School of Law for a workshop on the foundational principles of tribal sovereignty and free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC), hosted and presented by the Northwest Center for Indigenous Law and Washington Conservation Action Tribal Nations Program.

We are thrilled to offer a one-day workshop facilitated by Professor Nazune Menka and Director Brooke Pinkham of the Northwest Center for Indigenous Law. In the first half of the workshop we will learn the foundations of tribal sovereignty and FPIC and explore the practical applications in the context of environmental justice and taking action on the protection of cultural resources, tribal co-management of natural resources, and regulation of environmental quality. In the second half, we will convene a panel of Indigenous leaders for a meaningful discussion on the challenges they face while asserting tribal sovereignty across the different levels of governance and community organizing.
