Dance for Social Change (DSC) Youth Programs  Registration Form - Fall 2026 & Spring 2027

Thank you for your interest in Dancing Grounds’ Dance for Social Change (DSC) Youth Programs!

Please read the program descriptions and enrollment information carefully before completing this registration form. Our youth programs are designed to help young people build dance technique, confidence, creativity, community, and a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

At Dancing Grounds, we believe liberation is a practice. We bring rigor to our dance training while recognizing the human being in front of us. That means our young people are encouraged to work hard, ask questions, take creative risks, learn from one another, and develop their own voices as artists as they continue in our programs.

Our classes draw from the Black and African Diasporic dance traditions, contemporary dance, hip-hop, ballet, modern, improvisation, and creative movement. We want young dancers to understand not only how to move, but where movement comes from, why it matters, and how dance can be a tool for connection and social change.

TUITION

We believe young people deserve access to high-quality dance education regardless of their family's financial circumstances. At the same time, tuition helps us pay teaching artists, maintain our studio, purchase supplies, produce performances, and sustain the programs that make this work possible. Your tuition is an investment in your young person's growth and in the continuation of youth dance programming at Dancing Grounds. We are committed to keeping DSC accessible while also building a sustainable program. To help us do that, we offer several ways for families to participate.

Your first payment and registration fee must be submitted to secure your child's enrollment unless another arrangement has been approved by a Dancing Grounds representative.

Sibling Discount

  • We want families to be able to participate together. Families enrolling more than one child receive: 15% off tuition for additional children.

PAY IT FORWARD Pay It Forward is one way our community can help make dance accessible to more families. When you choose Pay It Forward, you are paying your child's tuition plus an additional contribution that helps subsidize access for another dancer.

If your family has the ability to contribute more, we welcome you to help us make dance possible for another young person. Consider giving $10-$30 extra monthly or an flat amount towards a youth scholarship.

Pay It Forward is an optional tuition level, not a requirement for enrollment

Need Financial Assistance? We never want finances to be the reason a young person cannot dance. However, we do not have the funding available due to the pull back in grant funding on the arts to support scholarships.

Families requesting financial assistance will need to email chanice@dancingrounds.org and will need to actively participate in fundraising for their youth.

We also encourage families who are able to seek community sponsorships from family members, businesses, schools, faith communities, and other community partners to help pay for youth tuition to do so. Dancing Grounds can provide you language.

FAMILY PARTICIPATION & COMMUNITY SUPPORT

DSC is more than a weekly dance class. We are building a community around young people. Throughout the year, families will be invited to participate in:

  • Parent/guardian orientations

  • Performances

  • Community events

  • Fundraising activities

  • Youth opportunities

  • Volunteer opportunities

  • Parent committee activities

One important way families can support DSC is by participating in our fundraising efforts. We ask families to contribute in ways that are realistic for their household through attending events, sharing our work, bringing us ideas, connecting us with potential sponsors, volunteering, or making a financial contribution when possible.

Our goal is to build a culture where the whole community helps make youth dance possible.
