Learning Circles: Organization Assessment Form

Program Overview

Learning Circles is an intensive capacity building initiative supporting nonprofits as they move from learning to application. It integrates the following modalities:

Expert-led in-person and virtual sessions
Individual organizational coaching
Peer collaboration

You’ve Received a Discretionary Expense Allocation from the NYC Council, Now What?

This workshop is for nonprofits that either won a “grant” allocation or are having challenges collecting their funds from previous fiscal year allocations.

For those nonprofits that received a FY27 “grant” allocation, you must respond with specific information within the timetable which begins in September and has a quick turn-around requirement. We will review the paperwork required and help you meet the required deadlines.

Throughout the Learning Circle, the cohort will engage in an interactive workshop, group coaching, individualized technical assistance, and peer learning.

Participants will learn how to:

Navigate the post-allocation process, from initial award notification through contract registration, invoicing, and payment
Identify the required paperwork, information, and deadlines for FY27 grant allocations
Respond effectively to the City’s time-sensitive requests and avoid common delays
Recognize and address frequent roadblocks in contract registration, invoicing, and payment
Identify the appropriate City agency contacts who may be able to help move delayed paperwork forward

Ideal for:

Nonprofits who have received a notice from the NYCC Finance Division and the Mayor’s Office of Contract Services that their allocation is eligible to be treated as a “grant”
Nonprofits who have experienced seemingly insurmountable roadblocks when working with PASSport, an agency, and/or the Mayor's Office of Contracts

Dates & Times:

September 17, 2026 (2:00-4:00PM) (virtual)

One-on-one technical assistance will be available during September and October.

Pricing (includes all sessions for up to 2 staff members):

Nonprofit New York Members: $30 per organization
Non-members: $50 per organization
