Welcome Grays Harbor Educators!
How can a local environmental challenge become a meaningful STEM learning opportunity? Join Pacific Education Institute and regional partners for a hands-on professional learning experience exploring the impacts of the invasive European green crab in Grays Harbor.
Using the field as your classroom, you'll investigate green crab ecology through community science activities, hear from Tribal natural resource professionals, scientists, and local partners working to monitor and manage this invasive species, and explore classroom-ready lessons that connect students with authentic local phenomena.
Participants will engage in a Green Crab Molt Search, observe green crab trapping and identification, explore the *Green Crab Alert: Invasion in Washington's Waters* curriculum, and receive an **Aquatic WILD** curriculum guide with additional activities to support classroom implementation.
Leave with practical strategies, local resources, and new partnerships to help students investigate ecosystem dynamics, stewardship, and the science happening in their own communities.
