Trans and gender-expansive people are leaders, full stop. We may not always hold formal leadership titles or positions, but we’re the ones building the resources and supports we need to exist and thrive. We’re the ones mentoring and coaching one another, formally and informally. And we’re the ones often pushing for change in our workplaces, communities, and personal lives.
We are leaders, yet too often, our leadership isn’t recognized or encouraged by cisgender-dominated institutions and systems. So, if nobody else is going to invest in trans leaders, we need to do what we’ve always done as a community: come together to lift each other up.
If Not Us, Who? Building the Next Generation of Trans Leadership is a half-day conference created by and for trans and gender-expansive people to explore how our lived experiences shape the ways we lead, the communities we cultivate, and the care we offer ourselves along the way. Through speakers, interactive workshops, community partner resources, and opportunities for networking and connection, participants will reflect on their own leadership journeys while learning alongside trans and gender-expansive peers from across Greater Boston.
Participants will leave with an expanded network, deeper insight into their personal leadership approach, and new relationships and resources to support what comes next. Wherever you are in your leadership journey – organizing your community, navigating change in your workplace, or still learning to recognize the leader within yourself – this gathering is an invitation to connect, learn, and imagine what we can build together.
