Working with Government: A New Playbook
Format: 60 minutes via Zoom
Dates: September 8th, 2026
Time: 2:00pm GMT

We are delighted to invite you to register to this workshop, which is part of the Global Institute.

Our workshops bring diverse cohorts together to learn how to transform classrooms, schools, and systems, and to grow students as leaders for a more just, equitable, and peaceful future.

Governments worldwide hold the key to transforming education for all children. For civil society leaders, advocates, researchers, donors, teachers and principals working for change, the question then is: how do we work with, support or inform government efforts?

For a decade, ShikshaLokam and Mantra4Change have partnered with governments across India in order to strengthen a public education system that numbers 1 million schools. Working in partnership with education leaders at the state, district and school levels, they have grown system leadership capacity and strengthened systemic coherence to support change at scale.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how they do it. We’ll go behind the scenes to see how they approach working with the government, and explore the mindsets, relationship-building practices, and practical approaches they use to build trust, grow capability and enable lasting systems change.

This workshop will also feature the launch of a new playbook on working with government developed by ShikshaLokam and Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government.

This workshop will take place on September 8th,2026 at 2:00pm GMT and will be held in English. If you need live interpretation of the experience and/or translation of materials in additional languages to support your engagement, please indicate this below.
