Advanced Welding: TIG Course – Interest Form

This interest form is for IAM District 751 and W24 members who would like to enroll in the Advanced Welding: TIG Course offered by the Machinists Institute. 

Please note: Submitting this form does not guarantee placement. Registrants will be enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis. If space becomes available, you will be contacted by the Machinists Institute directly.

Course Description

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, including welding safety, equipment setup, metal preparation, and basic TIG welding techniques. Students will learn proper torch handling, filler metal application, and weld bead control while working with common welding joints and positions. Emphasis is placed on shop safety, weld quality, and precision. Under instructor guidance, students will complete hands-on welding exercises and a basic TIG welding project.


Prerequisite: Participants must have successfully completed our Basic MIG Welding course to be eligible for this course.

Schedule and Location
Courses are offered in morning, evening, and Saturday formats to accommodate various work shifts. Final class times will be confirmed based on interest and availability.
