Community Engagement
Community engagement is a great way to integrate into your community. You are required to complete at least 30 hours during the program year. Check out your Student Handbook for more information.

Keep your hours up to date! Each month when reports go out we will show the Community Engagement Leaders Leaderboard with the top 3 students who have earned the most hours so far overall. Make sure you are submitting photos in the community engagement section each month, or send them to Inbound at anytime, so that we can share to our social media accounts to recognize your great work!

IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE YOUR TRACKER, OR CANNOT FIND IT, PLEASE EMAIL INBOUND inbound@americancouncils.org

It is your responsibility to review the Travel Policy in your Student Handbook. If a Travel Permission Form is needed, it is your responsibility to submit this to American Councils in a timely manner so that we may review and approve it. You can find the Travel Permission Form on the Student Portal. Note that if your travel request involves visiting or receiving natural family or friends of your natural family OR if your travel request is outside of the U.S., you will need to request the appropriate travel form from inbound@americancouncils.org.

Questions or Concerns

Student of the Month

Details

Each month, American Councils offers opportunities for students to be selected as Student of the Month for our next newsletter!

Consider:
  • How have you exceeded expectations for your exchange experience?
  • What kinds of ties to the community are you making? This could be through community engagement activities, school extracurricular activities, etc.
  • What have you demonstrated about what you've learned about America by being engaged in your host community and school?
  • What are some significant examples of personal growth you have witnessed in yourself? Consider these areas: leadership skills, English proficiency, critical thinking skills, cross-cultural communication

To nominate yourself or another student on program for Student of the Month, please complete this form: Student of the Month Nomination Form for Students
