2026 Union Project Holiday Sales Opportunities

Union Project has two holiday sales opportunities in 2026 that are open to any ceramic artists who would like to apply:

Handmade Arcade, December 4 through December 6, is the region's largest holiday market featuring handmade gifts. UP brings the Wheel Mobile to do demonstrations and a curated selection of ceramics to sell.

If selected, you will be responsible for dropping off your work to UP in advance, providing a digital inventory, and W-9. UP staff will handle all transportation to and from the event, set-up and tear-down, staff the sale, and retain 30% of the purchase price of any work sold. This opportunity is open to any ceramic artist who would like to apply. We will provide times for drop off if accepted.

Winter Pottery Pop-Up will be held one week later on Saturday, December 12. This event will take place in our Great Hall and Atrium. There will be hot beverages and a Pittsburgh Cookie Table you can contribute to.

If selected, you will be responsible for setting up and running your own table for the day, and managing all of your own sales. Union Project will provide hot chocolate and participating artists will be asked to bring cookies for the sale. Union Project will promote this event as a last-minute gift buying opportunity. Participating artists will pay a sliding scale booth fee from $50-100. This opportunity is open to any ceramic artist who would like to apply.

1) Fill out the form below in its entirety by Sunday, 10/11/2026 at 23:59.
2) Artist notifications will go out on Friday, 10/16/2026.
3) Artist agreements and applicable booth fees will be due shortly after.

Written Pieces

Run a spellcheck on all of your writing.
Confirm the spelling, capitalization, and punctuation throughout your writing especially of any proper names (schools, galleries, art centers, etc.). These will not be caught by an automated spellchecker.
Use only one space after a period.
Your submitted writing may be edited by UP for consistency.

About the artist. (Limit 600 characters)
Please submit a brief narrative statement, written in first person (eg., "I primarily work with porcelain...") that answers the following questions:
1) What specific techniques do you utilize or specialize in with your ceramic work?
2) Where do you primarily make your work? (Home studio, college studio, Union Project, PCA&M, etc.)
3) What inspires your work? What is your why?
4) High fire or low fire?
It is not necessary for your statement to address these questions in the order they are presented.

Photos of Your Work

Take photos of your work on a clean background in a well-lit area.
Make sure the work is clean of dust and lint before photographing.
Stabilize your camera or phone to ensure crisp in-focus images.
Rename your images so the file names begin with your last name.
Submit new photos from your past application.
While 1-2 styled images showing your work in groupings or in use are welcomed, please be sure to include some images of solo pieces.
Upload images that are representative of what you plan to sell.
Upload 7 images maximum. Combining multiple images into one file makes it more challenging for the jury to evaluate your work and may work against you.
JPG and JPEG are the only formats accepted.

IMPORTANT: Upload 5-7 high-quality, high-resolution digital images of your work.

Union Project Members Only: In addition to uploading images of your work, you have the option to drop off physical work at Union Project for consideration. If you choose to utilize this option, please being 5-7 pieces that are representative of what you plan to sell, in a box with a lid that fits, clearly labeled with your name, to the Steward desk at the Negley Avenue entrance during open hours:
