Eligible Fields of Study 
Graduate study must be in a direct or related discipline that advances economic mobility, public-sector leadership, or community wealth-building:
Your field of study must be in a direct or related discipline that advances economic mobility, public-sector leadership, or community wealth-building.  Please select one of the following:
  • Business Finance
  • Economics
  • Economic Development
  • Public Sector Finance
  • Public Administration (with a finance, budgeting, or economic development focus)
  • Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in finance, economics, or economic development

Residency Priority

While the scholarship is open nationally, priority consideration will be given in the following order:

  1. City of Wilmington residents
  2. Delaware residents
  3. Greater Philadelphia Area residents

Residency may be verified through a driver’s license, state ID, lease, or utility bill.  While the scholarship is open nationally, priority consideration will be given in the order listed above.

Personal Statement (750–1,000 words)

  • How your graduate or doctoral program will advance fairness, equity, and inclusion within your chosen field or profession.
  • Your commitment to finance, economic development, or public-sector leadership.
  • How does participation in the Wilmington Treasurer's Fellow Program align with your educational and career goals.
  • Any lived experiences, community engagement, volunteer service, or leadership experiences that have influenced your career path and commitment to public service.

  • A faculty member, OR
  • A supervisor in a professional or community leadership role OR  
  • Undergraduate Seniors may submit only 2 academic letters of recommendation. Post-undergraduates must submit one academic and one professional letter of recommendation.
