Y2Y Waitlist Entry

Y2Y Harvard Square is a shelter for young adults (18-24) experiencing homelessness. Service providers, teachers, lawyers, or any other adult who has a professional relationship with a young person in need of a place to stay may enter this form on their behalf with the consent of the waitlist applicant.

The shelter will be open for the season from the evening of October 15th, 2026 to the morning of April 15th, 2027. Y2Y is located at 1 Church St, Cambridge, MA 02138. Y2Y's phone number is 617-864-0795.

Y2Y has changed to a waitlist model. The first round of 22 beds will be lotteried off on Thursday, October 15. Those who did not win a bed will join the waitlist in the order they submitted this form.

For guests who've stayed with us before, it is strongly encouraged that you take a moment to review the following updates:

Length of stay: Stays are 60 days long. You may be able to get a 30-day extension if you stay actively involved with case management.

When you receive a bed: You must contact Y2Y by 10:00 PM or arrive at the shelter that same night. If you can't make it, contact us by 10:30 PM that night, and we will hold your bed for one extra night. If you don't, your bed will be given away, and you will need to rejoin the long-term waitlist.

If you can't arrive the first night: As long as you contact us ahead of time, we will give you one extra night to arrive and begin your stay. Without prior contact, your bed will be given away, and you will need to rejoin the long-term waitlist.

Nightly arrival and curfew: Arrive by 9:00 PM each night of stay, or contact the shelter to let us know you're coming. The final curfew is 10:30 PM. We cannot let anyone in after 10:30 PM.

Nights away from the shelter: You may spend up to five nights away from Y2Y in any 30-day period, but only if you contact us each of those nights. If you spend six or more nights away, you will lose your bed. If you go three nights in a row without contacting us after your stay begins, you will lose your bed.

Y2Y will NOT run the Emergency Bed (e-bed) or Last-Call lotteries for one-night stays this season.

Please answer as accurately as you can. Your answers help us understand your situation and connect you with support. Beds are for people who don't have safe, stable housing, so your answers may affect whether you are offered a bed. By joining the waitlist, you agree that Y2Y staff may contact you, including to follow up on your answers and to check in with you every week. To stay on the waitlist, you must respond to the weekly email. If you no longer need a bed, we may remove you from the waitlist.
