Educators as Co-Architects of AI: The Story Behind Challa
Format: 90 minutes via Zoom
Dates: Novemer 11th, 2026
Time: 1:00pm GMT

Join Yukabeth Kidenda, Co-founder and CEO of Teach For Kenya, for a live conversation on how her team built Challa, an AI-powered coaching platform supporting teachers in Kenyan classrooms. This session goes beyond what the tool does to show how it came to be: months of field research with coaches and teachers before any technology was designed, and the early conversations that followed with Anthropic on the technical support needed to build it further. You will come away with a clear picture of what it looks like when educators, not companies, lead the design of AI tools meant to serve them, and what that approach could mean for how AI shows up in your own school or community.

This session is part of the Thought Leadership Series, a monthly conversation connecting global voices in AI and education with practitioners putting these ideas into practice.

*This session will be a Fireside conversation with questions from the community*

This session will be held in English, with interpretation and/or translation to Spanish and Arabic. If you need live interpretation of the experience and/or translation of materials in additional languages to support your engagement, please indicate this below. We welcome all requests and will work to provide appropriate language support measures. However, please understand that we may not be able to accommodate all requests.
