Supported Communities Fund - Application Form

Please select a language.

Thank you for showing an interest in applying for the Supported Communities Fund.

This fund has been created by a group of Camden researchers and the wider Camden Giving Alumni to improve the wellbeing of Camden residents from global majority backgrounds by reducing isolation and helping people access the support they need to thrive.

We will fund organisations delivering either talking therapy or therapeutic activities that help residents build connections, improve their wellbeing and feel supported. Applicants must demonstrate how they will reach people who are furthest from accessing therapy, and how they will create welcoming, inclusive spaces where people feel comfortable seeking support.

We welcome applications from organisations of any size that are based in Camden or have previously delivered work in the borough. Projects must provide a minimum of eight sessions per beneficiary.

All grants will be £10,000, with an additional 10% (£1,000) to support staff wellbeing. This recognises the importance of looking after the people who support our communities, as well as the people who benefit from their work.

Some key information you should know before you start:

  1. The fund is open to registered Charities and registered charitable organisations (eg. Charities, CIOs, CICs and private companies limited by guarantee without share capital only). This means citizens, schools, TRAs, co-ops or faith groups (unless they have charitable status) will be ineligible to apply. This will be confirmed by asking for Charity Commission numbers and/or Companies House numbers in the application form.
  2. Organisations must have at least three unrelated people as Directors / Trustees (depending on governance structure) and two authorised signatories who are unrelated and do not live at the same address. For the Directors / Trustees, this will be confirmed using a tick box on forms and checking Charity Commission / Companies House.
  3. Funding can either be project funding (for orgs where Mental Health isn’t their primary mission) or core (where Mental Health is the primary mission of their organisation). This can be confirmed from an organisation's charitable objectives on the charity commission or SIC on companies' house, for companies registered with companies house we would expect you to have an SIC code matching something in Section Q here: https://resources.companieshouse.gov.uk/sic/.
  4. We are expecting to award 9 grants in this funding round. As this is a new fund we do not have a previous years data to compare to, but based on similar funds we've awarded in recent years. We would expect between 25 and 40 applications.
.

Reporting

Reporting will be done via a combination of data collection and interviews
For the data collection element: We will require evidence that grantees are able to provide the following anonymised data on members of your organisations; who your members are (broken down by age, gender and ethnicity), where in the borough your members are coming from and how frequently they are engaging with your organisation. We would recommend organisations use Plinth, which is free to use, to capture this information, and are happy to support with onboarding onto the platform however if you are able to evidence that you use a different digital platform and can export this data, we are happy to accept data from those platforms.

Interviews with former Camden Giving panellists, known as 'Coffee and Chat reporting' which will be completed at the end of each year will focus on; if access to unrestricted funding has opened any doors to funding, and if representative leadership has played a role in the success of the project. Interviews will be conducted by the Camden Giving panellists who awarded you grant, and we would like to speak to the leader of the project as well as one person who has been supported by the project.

Camden Giving is a fundraising grant giver, as part of this we wish to celebrate your project achievements or organisation, we may contact you to take part in beneficiary-led videos or invite you to events to help us fundraise further funding that can support communities in Camden.

If for any reason you did not keep up-to-date with reporting requirements, this would make you ineligible for further Camden Giving funding.
