We invite you to submit your application to present or facilitate at the 2019 Exchange. Presentations at the Exchange showcase promising practices of social innovation and its effects on higher education. The deadline to submit is September 26, 2018 at 6:00pm EST.

There are multiple speaking opportunities and roles on the 2019 Exchange agenda: Best Practice Presentations, Community Lunches, Big Idea Talks, Workshops, various Facilitator roles. Please note you can only apply for one opportunity.

There are two types of speaking opportunities on the 2019 Exchange agenda: Presenter or Facilitator. 

We are looking for presenter application submissions that showcase promising practices of social innovation and its effects on higher education. Specific presenter roles include: Best Practice Presentations, Community Lunch, Big Idea Talks, and Workshops. 

We are also seeking facilitators with a passion for social innovation and for bringing out the best in speakers and session attendees.

Best Practice Presentations
75 minute sessions | 2-4 presenters & 1 facilitator | 20-50 attendees
Best Practice Presentations showcase concrete examples and how-to’s about social innovation and changemaking initiatives on campus. NEW THIS YEAR: You can submit a group presentation with 2-3 other speakers. Or you can submit an individual presentation and Ashoka U will curate your session by matching you with other aligned presenters.
Big Idea Talks
10-12 minute talks | 1 presenter | 20-50 attendees
Big Idea Talks are engaging TED-style, 10-12 minute presentations. We will select talks about big-picture, cutting-edge ideas transforming higher education or the social sector.
Community Lunches
60 minute sessions | 1 conversation host | 10-12 attendees
Community Lunches are small, informal discussions during lunch in the main dining area. They are about fun, interesting topics not on the agenda.
Workshops
75 or 180 minute sessions | 1-2 presenters | 20-50 attendees
Workshops are hands-on sessions designed to go deep into skill-building or deep into a subject that can help fuel social innovation and changemaking initiatives on campus.


Best Practice
Facilitator___
75 minute sessions | 2-4 presenters & 1 facilitator | 20-50 attendees
Best Practice Facilitators bring the speakers and session together to prepare and create a rich, experiential learning experience.
Big Idea Talk Emcee   
10-12 minute talks | 1 presenter | 20-50 attendees
Big Idea Talks are engaging TED-style, 10-12 minute presentations. Each session has 3 speakers. Emcees are assigned a session. They help coach the 3 speakers in the session to prepare a great story and then host the session during the Exchange.  
Peer Huddle Host
2-3 meetings during the Exchange | 6-8 people per group 
Peer Huddles are a curated opportunity for attendees to get to know each other in a small group setting. Peer Huddle Hosts will lead a conversation before the Exchange and facilitate 2-3 meetings with their group during the Exchcange. The Exchange team will be responsible for curating the participants in the Peer Huddle.

As you consider submitting your presentation application, please note that:

- All selected presenters are responsible for expenses incurred in conjunction with the 2019 Ashoka U Exchange including registration, housing, and travel.

- Proposal submission topics cannot be changed after the review and selection process.

- Acceptance notifications will be sent out in October 15, 2018.

- All presenters and facilitators will be listed in the Exchange program.

Exchange facilitators play a critical role on the agenda. They guide session preperation and help foster a creative, engaging culture at the conference. Ashoka U sees facilitators as key agenda leaders.

Facilitators will be listed in the Exchange program and are guaranteed the early-bird rate of $699.
