Notice - GAP and IJPBS

From 2026, the IJPBS editorial team will curate high-quality international research for annual International Positive Behavioural Support special issues of the Tizard Learning Disability Review.

Good Autism Practice will be published as annual special issues of Advances in Autism, with a continued focus on sharing practical insights, research, and reflective evaluations with real-world application.

IJPBS and GAP will cease to be published as independent journals by Bild.

Your subscription 2026-2027

We have arranged for IJPBS and GAP subscribers to have access, at no additional cost, to Tizard Learning Disability Review, including the special issue of International Positive Behavioural Support, and Advances in Autism including the special issue of Good Autism Practice for the period of 1 May 2026 – 30 April 2027.

Bild will continue to administer your subscription for this period. You do not need to do anything, Bild will be in touch shortly with information of how to access Tizard Learning Disability Review and Advances in Autism throughout this period.

Both Tizard Learning Disability Review and Advances in Autism publish four issues per year, which will include the special issues, giving access to four new journal issues for the price of two, per subscription, throughout the year.

Please note that your subscriptions will run from your next renewal date until 30 April 2027.

When you renew, you will continue to access past issues of IJPBS and GAP, as you do now, via the IngentaConnect platform, along with access to Tizard Learning Disability Review and Advances in Autism for the price of your current IJPBS and GAP subscription until 30 April 2027.

If you choose not to renew, you will have access to Tizard Learning Disability Review and Advances in Autism until 30 April 2027 but will lose access to past issues of IJPBS and GAP at the date your current subscription lapses.

From 30 April 2027, you will be given the option to move across to become a subscriber of the Tizard Learning Disability Review and Advances in Autism with Emerald Publishing, or to stop your subscription.

Why this change is happening

A marked shift in the publishing landscape has taken place over recent years, making it increasingly challenging for small organisations to publish independent journals. The editorial teams of IJPBS and GAP have been in conversation with Bild for some time, seeking to secure the best possible future for the journals. Working with Emerald Publishing will enable International Positive Behavioural Support and Good Autism Practice to continue publishing high quality work, reaching a broader audience. While Bild will cease publishing the journals, the charity remains an active, supportive partner of the special issues.

The Direct Debit Guarantee

This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.
