Introduction

Residents pursuing interventional radiology in the second through fourth postgraduate years (PGY-2-4) often lose the strong clinical skills they developed during their internship as they focus on their acquisition of knowledge in diagnostic radiology.

Outstanding interventional radiologists have mastered both procedural and clinical excellence, and thus, clinical integration throughout residency is paramount to achieving and maintaining clinical advancement.  Thus, the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) Residents, Fellows, Students Section (RFS) Award for Clinical Advancement seeks to acknowledge one (1) outstanding resident who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to expanding their clinical advancement during their early postgraduate years.

Presentation of the award will take place during the resident (RFS) dedicated programming at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. The awardee will be recognized in Guidewire, IR Quarterly and on the SIR website.

Attendance at the meeting is not required to receive the award, and SIR does not provide financial support for travel or participation

·       Nominees must be a current SIR member-in-training, in an accredited interventional radiology residency program in the US or Canada

·       Must be a current trainee at the PGY-2, PGY-3 or PGY-4 level
